KALE

The second I heard the music start; my eyes were glued to the door of the courtroom. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the wedding band I had bought for Terra months ago. I had been carrying it around with me since before we found out she was pregnant. When I was away from her, all I had to do was reach into my pocket and feel the warm gold band and I was instantly calmer. I put it on my pinky finger and twisted it around a few times, eager to put it on Terra’s hand.

Finally, the doors opened, and I was surprised to see my little Bright Eyes standing there. Brighten looked around shyly, a bit intimidated by the room full of people staring at her. After a second, she saw me, and her face lit up.

She took off toward me at a run, yelling my name the entire time. I laughed when I saw the flowers she had been holding get tossed aside in her excitement. I watched Willow reach down and pick them up while she too laughed at Brighten’s antics.

My little goddaughter was dressed like a biker princess, tiara and all. She was wearing a black t-shirt that had the symbol for my MC on it and a hot pink tutu around her waist. Black motorcycle boots completed her outfit, and I was thrilled to see the little tiara I had ordered especially for her on her head.

I scooped her up and planted a kiss on her cheek as she giggled excitedly. Zeke walked up to get her from me, shaking his head the entire time. I had to whisper in her ear for a second to get her to let go of my neck, but in the end, she went into her father’s arms without too much upset.

It was then that I saw Lisa walking toward me, her dimples shining and tears in her eyes as she walked my way. When she got to the front, she tiptoed up and kissed me on the cheek before she went to stand on the other side of the judge.

I stared at the door waiting on my mom to come through, followed closely by Terra and my pop.

My heart swelled when I saw the three of them standing shoulder to shoulder, their hands clasped tight as they walked toward me down the aisle of the courtroom.

Terra looked so beautiful; it took my breath away. She was wearing a dress, which was shocking in itself, and some shoes I hadn’t ever seen before.

The dress was a deep purple and it hung perfectly over her swollen belly. I could see that it was tight over those gorgeous breasts of hers, but the rest was loose and flowed down almost to her feet.

I looked back up to her smiling face and was amazed, once again, that such a beautiful creature had fallen in love with me.
